not all 86 engines had alum heads .. just the later ones. there is a pad on the pass. side, front, of the engine that has numbers on it that should match your vin number
Will check the number on the block to see if it matchs the vin number. It is an alum head engine. I had to replace the cooling hoses for the oil cooler and noticed the block was black.
