Default What is this wire?

Hi guys. just opened up my console and found a wire that had been cut and duct taped so it was nice and perfectly safe

also, are there supposed to be two of these lights for the shift indicator?

I don't have a FSM yet so i'm not sure how to go about tracing these wires. can someone please help?

Not sure, but it could be the console hatch light connector.

There is a place for 2 shift indicator bulbs but only 1 was used by the factory. Some have wired the other one to be hot and put in another bulb but it makes the indicator too bright. I have read that you can put 2 LED bulbs in there and this makes the shift indicator easy to read and gives a distinctive look.

I dont think so, the console light works fine. Im referring to the orange wires in duct tape. There's also a black wire with the wires but it isn't in the tape because it must be the ground

One will be always hot (the orange one, IIRC) and the other is hot with the ignition switch in the ON position. Each wire has a 10A capacity.
