Audio System?
I currently have a bose speakers system in my 84 vette with a nice Alpine cd player and want to change the speakers out since they are still the originals. What speaker brands do you guys recommend?
No I am not getting a sub, just speakers!!!

here's what i learned when doing my stereo:

for the time being ill assume you want head - unit amplified budget type speakers.
just dont buy sony/pyle/pyramid, and find what sounds best to you. i think infiniti makes the best low end tweet.

If you want the "caviar" of car audio.
The king is Rainbow Reference, but they are $7000 a set (2 woofers, 2 tweeters, OUCH!!!)
Not so extravagant are:
(Most of these are around a grand a set, thats if you cant get them wholesale.. *cough thezeb.com cough*)

i have boston speakers. they sound great until i get up around 75 with the top off. then i have to turn it up loud enough that the bass gets distorted. i need to get an amp and subwoofer so the bass doesn't get sent to the 6x9's.
