How are the rear lights held in? I took the 2 screws out and pulled the covers off 3 of them but 1 the whole light came out and looks like the housings and held in by 2 other screws that i feel just broke on the one light? And insight on what happened or what i did wrong as well as best way to fix this problem??
On my 95, they are held in from behind by two 10mm screws. You have to get to them from behind the license plate. The plastic housing where the screws go in split and broke off on mine, I drilled them out and put bolts on. I was driving down the road this past weekend and one of the fell out, that is how I know. Luckily the wiring did not disconnect so I did not lose it.

You didn't mention the year but the three that you removed the lens on and the housing stayed there were correct. The one that when you removed the screws the lens/housing came out as a single piece wasn't installed correctly the last time. Looking at the back-side of the housing you should be able to determine where the other fasteners are that if you want to remove the other three housings you'll need to reach behind the housing and remove those screws. They should unless changed have a hex head, two per lamp regardless of year I believe.
You shouldn't break anything so long as you go slow.
Let's see a snapshot of the back-side of the housing on the one you removed already and a snapshot of the tail light pocket for that tail light to see what you've got. I'd say you'll be fine!
I did sequential lights. Remove the license place, to remove the first 10mm screw from behind. Be advised the housing is plastic and breaks easily when you re-install and tighten the screw. Look at the picture closely and you can see where the mount holes are. The light is a two piece item, the red lens, the silver housing that is mounted from behind. Good Luck
The plastic where the mounting screws is broken, on both side of the inner left housing. So am I looking at needing to buy a new housing now?
OR you could epoxy a stud in the housing and then "nut" the stud after the install! You've got housings to use as a guide!
GM # for a new housing is 16509624 and it's still available. I'd think there should be used lamps available also for not much money! Location isn't great for a ship from the US.

One Method: OR you could epoxy a stud in the housing and then "nut" the stud after the install! You've got housings to use as a guide!
Another, this is what I did to all of them that were cracked/broken, provided all the plastic housing mount is there. I epoxied the plastic (cracks and pieces) and then zipped it tight with a zip tie. Let harden, keep the zip tie in place (do not remover at all, added strength) and check that the 10mm screw goes in snug and tight. Then mount light. I thought I had a picture but I don't. 3 years and counting!
Bottom line either way, you want your lights to mount at the same factory flushness. If the mounting posts, or nuts are uneven, then your lights will look "funky". Good luck ....Boxcar
Like right through the housing and have a nut and screw inside the house with the bulb? that one confused me haha
That's right. There is a lip around the inside of the housing where the rubber seal seats, you will just have to trim some of that back so a flush screw will sit in there and the shield will fit back on flush. Worked like a charm for me. The housings will only go in so far, so I had no problem with the fitment.
