Anyone know of any corvette appraisers either on the internet or
contact by phone ?. I have a stock 1987 with low mileage in very
good condition and I was looking to find what out the true value. I
Looked at kelly blue book and doesn't go back to 1987 unless i'm missing something. I'm in New Jersey Thanks
I'm not sure someone willing to appraise a car over the internet or phone would be reliable. I'm not sure how someone could do that. At the very least get someone local to do it first hand. Or, do a search for cars in the same year as your car and look to see what condition and price they are. You should be able to get a feel for what your car is worth. Bottom line is, your car is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
P.S. PLRX: I thought it was funny considering the question.
Since no one has chimed in yet let me give you my .02. Alot depends on your location. However, if your Vette is as good as you state my guess is $8K tops. I think most potential buyers are new to C4's and do not know the value of a well maintained Vette. Therefor, they see all those out there for 4 to 5K.
I was one of those and bought my 85 for 4500K. At this time I"m closing in on $13K. Nowing what I do now I could have bought one heck of a latter model Vette. So wait for an experianced buyer. I might mention, I am a perfectionest and don"t do my own wrenching.
If you want an appraisal from the guys here, a full set of pics and a detailed description will be sufficient to start a finger-pointing, name-calling thread war from which you can extract an average value once you wade through the insults and profanity. And welcome!

your second point is so true, no one on here will nicely appraise a car with just pictures or general mileage and year. there not 100% wrong but it still is worth doing!

Yeah, nOObs think this place is Kelly Blue Book, Barrett-Jackson or personal
servitude. Normally they also get BUTT-HURT very easily.
If you want to know the price you can get from selling your car an appraisal would be just about worthless. A good one should accurately describe the condition of the car and list its good points and bad points but the value given will generally have no relationship to reality. The way to find out the value of your car is to look at ads for cars similar to yours for sale, then note which ones seem to sell and which do not, as asking prices often have no relationship to reality. Also look on Ebay at the completed listings. There you can see the prices the cars sold for, if they sold.
Just an example. My wife bought a diamond and sapphire ring for about $ 6000. It came with an appraisal from a gemological service with a value of $ 50,000. Not too realistic. Most car appraisals should be closer to the real value but will often be too high.
The guys from the photo would probably be quite realistic.
