It only takes a few minutes to clay-bar a windshield...just like with paint, claying is a good prep for waxing or polishing glass.
I was thinking of trying clay bar. It seems like a really good idea. Clay is softer than glass so it wont scratch it, yet it will pull all of the contaminants. Gonna try that next time!

Haven't done it since high school....but use rain-x religiously. Not that it ever rains here anyway....the wipers are just for decoration.

I use RainX regularly (about once a month) and I rarely need to turn on my wipers. After about 50 feet of rain in the last week here in SW FL, it's still working.

I have tried using wax and Rain X. I have found no ill affects from using both on car windows. Also, the wiper blades.. try putting some type of UV protectant on them. They are rubber and should last longer. Dirt tends to build up on rubber.

I always had trouble with the UV protectant smearing onto the windshield... What do you use?

I wash, then clay, and then I will wax (turtle wax). I don't like to use my wipers because I don't like the arc that is left on the glass.
