The door hinges on my 40th Anniv have apparently sagged causing the window to rub on the roof pillar when I close the door if the window is all the way up. Any fixes out there short of replacing the hinges?

You need to confirm it's actually a hinge problem and it doesn't sound like you have. For the glass to hit the pillar the hinges would need to be very bad and would need to have been for some time I'd think. You've had problems closing and opening the door? The door should be dragging on the striker and you should feel the door "drop" significantly when you open it clearing the latch/striker. Do you?
You can do pins and bushings but if it's as bad as you mention a hinge is very bad or maybe loose. Only you can tell! With the door open past the striker can you lift the rear of the door so as to "wobble" on the hinges? Does the striker show significant wear on the pillar?
Study the procedure before you get into it. There's maybe some tutorials or previous posts with the owners results and issues.
The more likely problem is broken/crushed upper window stops. When they break, it causes the window to "cam"toward the rear and hit the b-piller. The stops are plastic and break sooner or later. The parts are still available and cost about $40. Each side is different, but if one side is bad, the other soon will be.
Agreed. Just went through this over the weekend rebuilding door on my 93. Hinge bushings were replaced but they weren't worn that bad. The front plastic window stop was another story. Cracked and broken it was about to completely fail. Sorry design as it does three things, guides the window up and down a rod, handles stresses sideways as door slams and is the front window stop for the power window motor.
