Default Thoughts/Opinions on this '93 coupe?

Hello everyone. My friend is interested in this Corvette and wants me to go with him to look it over tonight.

http://frederick.craigslist.org/cto/3888849259.html

I don't know much about C4s so any input would be greatly appreciated as to what to look for. Owner says that the battery drains after the car sits for a few days (not sure if there is a draw on the battery when car is off?).

Not a bad price. Shouldn't drain after only a few days! Make sure you take it for a test drive and run through all the gears and see how it shifts and get it up to operating temp. Also ask to see the maintenance records.

I've never seen a C4 with C5 seats in it before!

Turn the wheel as soon as you start the car to see if there is a sticky spot in the rack, this is a common problem. It only shows up after the car has been sitting for hours.
Hit him at $7500 and go from there.

Don't let a parasitic drain kill the deal their easy to find. I would offer 6k for a 100k mile car.

i would start in the 6500 area and wouldnt go above 7000-7500 for the car with that many miles and nothing special about it, and it has at least one known problem.
i would guess they would be happy to get 7500 for it. every c4 for sale i have seen has always had the asking price dropped pretty significantly after it has sat without offers for a while

The way I read the ad:

1993 - 20 years old.
6 speed manual transmission - hope the clutch isn't original. If it is $$$.
Adult owned - so? That could be a 21 year old.
Late model black leather seats - not a factor
Upgraded alloy wheels - are they quality upgrades? Only a small factor with me.
New rear tires - nice! But what about the fronts? Why did it need new rears? What the 'adult owner' lighting them up in the street?
100,500 miles - it has crested the 100k mark. WP, Opti, timing cover seals?
Garage kept - how many owners? Did all keep it garaged??
Comes with high end car cover - so? I'm buying a car, not a cover.
Eligible for Maryland Historic Tags!

This well-kept Corvette can be yours for less than Kelly Blue Book - $8,750, bring offers. Enjoy the beautiful summer weather with the glass top off and the wind in your hair. I am confident that you will be pleased with this vehicle. I am selling it because I need the garage space. - if he needs garage space there's a possibility that it hasn't been "garage kept" as of late.

IMO offer $6,500 and don't go higher than $7k.
