Default Just finished my project

So I just finished my car, I installed Exotic Muscle Race Bilstein coil overs with front heim joints for the sway bar, Energy Suspension Polyurethane bushings all around, 2005 Cadillac CTS-V 4-piston Brembo's up front stock calipers out back with C6 Z06 14" drilled Rotors up front and drilled and slotted rotors out back, Hawk HPS "Auto-cross race pads" all around, braided stainless lines from Kore3, brake ducts, and C6 Grand Sport wheels and tires that were custom painted Spiral Gray Metalic.

This project started because I needed a battery and when I went to replace that I freaked out and saw a little bit of rust so I wanted to sand and repaint the entire frame with Por 15, after that it ballooned out to suspension and brake upgrades real quick. here are some before and after pictures and some build pics.

this is a Before Picture

this is an After Picture

front end tear down

removal of front upper control arm bushings

front suspension put together

Front brake comparison stock vs CTSV brembo

Stock rotor VS C6 Z06 rotor

CTS V Brembo

2013 stock Grandsport wheels

2013 Grand Sport wheels painted 2013 Corvette Spiral Gray metallic

Exotic Muscle Coil Overs

Polished shiny suspension and brake bits

getting the alignment done

Ooh ...

... I like it - a lot!

Can you tell us more about the choice of the CTS-V brakes?

The offset for the new wheels is pretty far off. I like the hardware and the project, but you might consider replacing the wheels before getting into flares, and body paint work. To recover some cost, you can sell the current grand sports to a c6 owner. Grand sports have a wide body (like the c6z06) from the factory.

Good work. If you dont drive on gravel roads, let the tires stick out.

The workmanship looks great, but I have to agree the wheels are just to big for the car. For that to look right, you will need some serious amounts of fiberglass work to shape and mold all four corners. But I'll bet it stops hard and fast!

How the rear brackets work out, any rubbing issues?

there really aren't any special brackets they bolted up to the sock spindle just needed to space them out with washers about a 1/4" and because the bolts for the calipers were smaller than the stock ones I had to put a stainless steel insert in the spindle to take up the extra room.
