True. My loyality to Corvette Forun forces me to STOP right there cause I have a set. If you are serious about giving up the Pop-Up headlights take a look at VPP's offering.
YEP nice aluminum frame well built PIAA lights and a direct wiring kit. Only part I did not like about the kit is the plastic lens. If they were glass would have made a nice option for somebody who did not what the pop up light option.

I've seen these before. Personally I think these are the best looking option I've seen so far. I do think that the frame would be better in body color for a street car. (although mine is black so they already are in my case) But $1,200 is a ton of money for headlights IMO, considering the other things I could get for $1,200.
