Clutch Click?
What is weird, is that it started last night, after sitting in the hot GA sun all day. Clicked all the way home. When driving this morning, didn't notice it once. This afternoon, the noise was back. Temperature dependent?
Appreciate anyone's thoughts.
Or, it's the slave cylinder, same situation with the spring. The thing about the slave cylinder is that it can get loaded up with clutch dust and this can cause the return spring to hang up. Perhaps?
Or, you could be experiencing grooves being worn into the pivot stud inside the bell housing. As the push rod from the slave pushes the fork tail, it could be getting moved around in these grooves. Eventually the grooves will wear to point that the fork makes contact with the pressure plate. This is really a worse case scenario as it requires removal of the trans, and these parts (pivot stud and fork) are almost as hard to come by as a winning lottery ticket.
Now, what you can do. First is to check the clutch fluid resevoir. Is the level good? And is the fluid clear? If low, you have a leak. If you have leak from the master, your carpet under the dash will be oily from the fluid. If you have a leak from the slave, there will be signs of fluid dripping from the flywheel dust cover. If either one is leaking, replace them both if you can.
If the fluid is black, that is clutch dust. Change the fluid and bleed the system, probably a few times. Simple but teadeaous proceedure.
