'CHANGE OIL' light
Do you have to reset anything when you change your oil? I changed my oil about 6 weeks ago, I've put on about 400 miles since, last night we went for a cruise with our Corvette club, we went for a ride through the country roads for about 1 1/2 hrs around 30-40 mph, stop for supper about 1 1/2 hrs. When I left the restaurant, 1 mile down the road the 'CHANGE OIL' light came on? My Vette is a 1990. Thanks for all replies.

How else is your car supposed to know you changed the oil?
Even the new cars are like this.
It is an oil life monitor that calculates when to active that light based on oil temperature and engine revolutions since the last time it was reset.
It has no capability to actually "test" the oil to see if it needs changing.
