I have this rear hatch vent and it works good. For those that have it also did it make your interior courtesy light come on? The description at Ecklers said it would not effect the light but it does. Other than pulling the fuse how would you stop the light from coming on while using the rear hatch vent?
If you look inside the "cap" thing you put on the post to press down on the switch, there should be a set screw on the inside. I think I used a phillips and adjusted the screw depth until it shut off my switch.
edit: sorry, mine is the ventmaster. I don't know if yours will have the same look.
Man, I feel dumb. I never knew what those things were for! Those of you that have them, do you like them? What are the benefits? Is air movement less buffeted when open?
Sorry for the questions, I am just interested in the value of such an item.

I can give a great referal.
Our A/C quit on a weekend run when the temps were in three digits.
The hatch vent was most welcomed and gave us the circulation in the cabin we needed.
I also have the wind deflectors on the side mirrors that helped to kill some of the wind noise.
The rest of the noise was muffled with ear plugs for the 7 hour journey home.
I have one too. There is a screw inside the tip that goes over the plunger. Use a small phillips screw driver to back it off a bit so you will be turning it counter clockwise. Once adjusted, it will make the right contact and your interior light will go off.
There is one point that I would like to through out there. After using the hatch vent, I'd close my hatch and there would be no lights, but as soon as I got rolling down the road, the lights would flicker on and off. It drove me crazy as to what was causing this, I didn't put 2+2 together until one morning and had my moment.
The push rod on the vent master had pushed down just enough to change the adjustment on the switch. So the hatch push rod made contact, but as you travel and the hatch flexes, thereby causing the flickering lights. My experiment was to place a washer on the push rod, using tape, on the hatch and close the hatch. Went for a drive the lights never came one.
So, I exposed the switch and loosen the screws and readjusted the switch. Problem solved.
Point is, if you have flickering interior lights, check the adjustment of this switch.

I used to keep the hatch vent on all the time...until I had to drive home in the rain one afternoon. Water was pulled into the cabin which told me that exhaust gases were also coming in.
I removed mine and have not used it since.

Now if this is incorrect, please explain.
THink about it.
Open the door windows and the air flows out the back.
Close the windows and you create a low pressure zone in the cabin.
We driven many hours with the vent and windows open or cracked to keep the air flowing out the back.
No headaches yet
Not quite; I completely understand IF both door windows were closed, which would create a vacuum.
But even with the door windows down about half way, the rain water off the road or the spray off the tires was pulled into the cabin.
Not sure if CO will give one a headache or one just passes out....do not want to try it to find out.
Anyways not wanting to get into any kind of argument.
