The headlights on my 1995 are dismal, and that might be giving them too much credit. Am looking at the offerings from CovetteMods as they seem to have the best selection (3 choices). Has anyone used any of these or something else? Don't want to invest in something I will be disappointed with. Thanks for your input.
When I had my '92 'vert, I used the Hella glass replacement lamps and 90/100w H4 Xenon bulbs. I never had an issue with that wattage in terms of wiring or fuses.
The thing I really liked about the Hella lamps was the beam pattern; it was flat at the top which greatly reduced glare from rain and fog. The pattern also put extra light out to the right side so the edge of the road could be clearly seen.
The glass lamp assembly never caused any issues with the motors or the OEM gears. IIRC, I paid about $65 for the pair at the time and another $40 for the bulbs.
I bought the corvette mods projector HID headlights that had the low beams as HIDs and the high beams were the standard halogen. I bought the 5000 K 55 watt version with the harness that lets the low beams stay on when the high beams are on. The light is white and they are very bright. I had my wife drive the C4 at night while I drove at her in our other car to see if the glare was offensive. It was not.
Low beams.
