Default info needed

I am looking at a 96 vette with lt4 6spd 122k, He said that he would take 5k for it. Needs some work done on the leather seats and the rearend make a little noise. Hard to give an info on it because I have not test drove the car. I have read several posts here on corvettes and nothing on rearends. Might be low on oil. Might be ready to crap out. Guess my queation is if its bad would it be worth buying? Might be able to drive it like this for a long time.
sorry to be veg just don't know much about corvette rearends.
thanks

No, there are to many other nicer C4's around.

If not doing the work yourself, a rear differential and seat leather repair will cost $$$$$$...

You may need to provide more info to get honest feedback. It might be worth checking out and then reporting back on what you find.

Also if you fill out your profile and tell us where you live there may be a forum member who is close to you and would be willing to go with you to check out the car

$5k sounds like a pretty good price for the LT4 minus the rear end issue. You can buy really nice sim-leather or neoprene seat covers for under $300, so that shouldn't be an issue. I'd take Peabody's advice and see if someone here can go check it out. If not that, I'd find a good, knowledgeable mechanic and let him check it out. The rear end may not be the only issue going on with the car.
