Have been seeing lately a bunch of people offering the Grand Sport hash marks for the left fender for sale. Most are made of vinyl and appear to have a "stick on" adhesive to apply them to the car. I like the look of these and think they might dress up my 94 coupe, but if for some reason after a while I grow tired of them, can they simply be peeled off and removed? I can see me peeling them and lifting paint while they come off. Does anyone have any experience with this type of product and are you satisfied with your application? I would like to take the plunge but not have done so because of this reason. Feel free to chime with all the pros and cons of this.
I've delt with this type of material many times over the years. If the paint is correct and quality the vinyl can be removed without damage. The downside is some paint fading contrast will always show after prolonged use of vinyl. I have a full set of red stripes that came with my car still in the box.
Anybody ever seen or put these stripes on a two-tone bronze early c4? I wonder how my car would look with dark brown stripes (same color as the bottom half) on the light bronze hood?
Being a total scrub to vinyl application on cars, I bought two sets. It was a wise move, because I screwed up the first attempt. I took them off, buffed the area, and you never knew they were there. The second try, I got them on fine, however the stripes are not cut at the appropriate angle to match the edge and curvature of the hood, so I carefully trimmed it with an Xacto knife after application. Removing the excess was a cinch, and again all I had to do was clean up, buff, and wax the spot afterward.

That's always been a tuff color to play with. Not to many colors will work with the 2 tone bronze. It is a real classy color on a car. You can't put flames on it or anything.

Thanks, and it's probably best left alone, I agree. Just wondering...
