Hello all, well I have a friend who's father passed away and left him a 1987 corvette. The car is in really good shape has some paint dull spots and needs some TLC. It has been sitting for about a year and that just kills me, well he offered me the car for 2000.00 and says it will start right up. What could be the issues of it sitting for over a year and is it worth the money??? Thanks all
The Vette is pobably worth 6K running and looking well. So, you have to figure what it will cost you to bring it to that level. Sitting a year is nothing to worry about.

You've got to figure out what you want to do with it.
Restoration will cost more than it will ever be worth.
You could probably clean it up somewhat and have a decent shape toy, but even that could land you upside down in it.
If you're mechanically inclined, or willing to learn, it could be a fun project. If you're panning to have the work done by others... it might be a very expensive project.
I went salmon fishing today with the owner and he said the car has 137,000 miles on it and it will start right up. I was going to go over today to take some pictures but we are going to do it tomorrow....
I have a friend that restores cars for a living and is willing to help me with all of the major things (if there is any) the only thing that I would like him to do is repaint the spots that are very dull looking. The car also has 137,000 miles on her, but I'm not planning to drive any real long distance.....
It has 137,000 mile on her and she starts right up with a loud roar!!! The only thing I want to do is maybe have it repainted soon, pictures to be up by tomorrow
Those are good solid motors and if it's been taken care of it still has many miles left in it. Sounds like your wanting it for a little cruising and a fun car and for that price it would be hard to go wrong.
Any toy is gonna cost you money and never be worth what you have into it, so do it and have a blast with it!!!!! I have had plenty of muscle cars, and miles mean nothing if car is sound....
