Security Flashing?
I've had this ol' girl apart for over 3.5 years and am finally getting around to doing all the changes I had bought the stuff for before I took her apart. Yesterday after finishing the Bose to Alpine sound system X-over, I hooked up the battery and tested the sound.
Now, since the whole interior is gutted other than the dash and steering column since I have double insulated it for better noise and temperature control and new carpeting. There was an Alpine alarm system that I knew nothing about until the dis-assembly of the interior. I had the car for a couple of years before starting these projects. I used the car occasionally for fun and never suspected this security system. The top of the engine is also disassembled to do heads, intake, exhaust replacement/conversions so there are other electrical connections not connected.
My question is this. When the battery is connected the dash flashes: SECURITY. IS this a problem or will this be resolved when all is reassembled? Can I do without the alarm system?

So you have an Alpine aftermarket security system and not the factory one?
My 90 the security flashes when the system is active, not sure what an 85 is supposed to do?
