Default Footwell lights

The courtesy lights in my footwells are not working but the ones in the back of the car are just fine. I need to change bulbs but was afraid to tug too hard on the lenses. Do they just pop off or do I need to go in from the backside which looks like no fun at all?

The plastic knee panels will have to be removed first.

Just remove a couple of 7mm screws, then you can access the bulbs.

Thx. I haven't been far up under there since I'm not a contortionist. I'll look more closely for those screws.

I suspect they are the same lamp housings as were used in earlier years. The issue I've seen is that they are VERY tight and hard to pry out. The problem is that only one end comes out and if you pry on the wrong end it will break.

I took this picture to show the home made LED arrays I made to go in the housings. You can see that you have to push back the latch on the end opposite the connector. Hopefully your courtesy lights look like this and this is useful to you:
