Problem with my vette :( PLEASE HELP!
Yesterday I got home and when I got out it smelled like burnt clutch? I dont know why b/c I dont ride the clutch and I take it pretty easy. So I pop the hood and there is a little bit of smoke coming up from an area under the windshield wipers coming from down by the tranny/converter area. Anyone know what this might be? Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

Any idea what kind of leak it could be? It very well could be because there was some fluid underneath and I figured it was from running the A/C but it could be something else?

Yeah, mine's a stinker too. I thought it was me at first, but now I'm thinking otherwise. Even worse, I have a tear in the shift lever leather, so some odor gets into the car.

This is just a guess, but I'd check the hydralic slave for your clutch. I'd bet it's leaking and when you push the pedal in it's not fully disengaging. Are you having problems shifting? Is it difficult to hit the gears? It could just be low on fluid too. It's underneath the computer. I also found out the hard way when filling mine, you need to compact the rubber boot on the inside if it's full out. Otherwise you won't get the reservior full.

Possibly a tranny fluid leak.............that happened with mine and it's currently in the shop. Maybe the fluid's leaking a little and when it drips down below...the car's heat's just burning it off.

Does it smell like oil smoking?
My 88 has a small leak somewhere along the intake that puts like one or two drops of oil on the manifold when first driving it and it smokes horribly.
Since it doesn't use a quart of oil in 3000 miles its on my list of things to do when I get to it.
Just an idea.
