Default Negative Cable Help

installing the engine on my 84 tonight and i know that the ground bolts to the block by the oil temp sender.. however, i cant get the cable end bolted on because the cable hits the block and does not allow the ring terminal to touch the block. it almost seems as though there should be a spacer there. anyone have any suggestions or a pic?

This picture is of my '86. I don't know how close that is to your car. This was taken shortly after a fire, so that's why the note on burned wires. The battery cable comes in from the rear. The black wires are a bunch of grounds and the thing going out of the picture at the top left is the braided ground cable to the frame.

Use any convenient bell housing bolt you can get to with a split washer for good contact

if I am unable to obtain the original location, I will use a bellhousing bolt. just wondering what I'm doing wrong that's preventing the cable from properly seating against the engine.. Maybe I'll post a pic tomorrow when I head out to the garage.
