I have a 1992 LT1 that just developed a problem with the digital dash. I like to monitor the engine coolant temp. Today I noticed it read zero (0) on the coolant temp. I checked the oil & it too read zero. The Volt setting didn't indicate anything. I switched to metric - no joy. Funny thing is that it still reads "Coolant," "Oil" & "Volt." If it was a defective temp sensor then I assume the oil temp & volt would still function okay. Or if a defective oil sensor than the temp and volt would function okay. If a fuse than none of them would function.
Any idea as to the cause of this?
I have a similar issue on my 1985 which started this past Sunday. First the tach went to 8800 RPM and finally to nothing at all. Then the average MPG went wacky and then the engine temperature reading. So, everything on the right half of the dash is inoperative.
I'm surprised that no one has responded to your post yet.

Any help, suggestions or ideas are welcome.
Thank you.
I remember reading recently where someone was having some strange issues with their digital dash. That one apparently turned out to be some form of grounding issue. The person said they ran a new ground to the instrument cluster and it fixed a number of issues.
I don't know if that's your issue or not but it wouldn't be that hard to try.
Yup can and probably is. The ground is located on the drivers door pillar. It also can be loose or corroded connections to the panel, which I think is the problem, maybe, sort of?
Tricky these vettes. One concern is the heat the old bulbs generate, if you need to get the unit repaired replace the bulbs with LED. Much brighter and cooler.
I read earlier that there is a fuse that kills the gauge readout. I don't know which one, or if that is your problem, but there were a couple of c4 guys here who were aware and posted the fix. Hopefully, they'll read this and let you know.
