C4 corvette Digital speedmeter problem

Hey guys, I have a 94 vette and the speedometer has been acting weird. So, I park my car in the parking lot at school, when I come back to start it up the digital speedometer is messed up. It wont show the gas gauge and the other stuff for like 30 minutes. I figured the reason why its doing that is because of the sun and the lighting outside. So I started putting a towel over the speedometer, and it helped a little but I still cant see the Mph.

Is this normal for c4 corvettes or is there something wrong with my speedometer?

not normal try to use the manual dimmer to brighten the readings but doubt that is your problem
