Default Quick brake question

Are the front pads the same for standard and heavy-duty (J55) brakes?

No.

The stock calipers have one piston. The J55 brakes have two. The pads are completely different.

Wrong! If the OP's question is regarding later C4's 88+ YES the pads are the same! The J55 wasn't of course available in '88 but yes the pads are the same!

Yes, I'm looking at 91 & 92. I'm going to put J55's on my 92 and when I was looking for pads I couldn't find anything separatin HD (J55) from standard, and wanted to make sure before I drop a bunch of $ on some track-day pads.

Thanks!

You'll be fine! Would you like a pair of NOS GS/CE calipers for your J55 install? I believe I have one pair left to sell. I've held them for a buyer but he seems to be out of money!

If only I had known... But I've already got a pair on order that's supposed to be delivered today.
Thanks!

I just did this upgrade on my '92, the pads are the same for both calipers!
