The C4 is like a road debris vacuum, and sucks it all to the front of the radiator. There is an opening at the pass side top of the shroud where you can take a flashlight and look in at the front of the radiator. I used to use a shop vac and a card board tube from wrapping paper to reach in there and suck the crude out. Hope this helps.
It has been blown out recently and was quite dirty. I have a shop vac, I will remember to apply this trick. Thanks again all.
Also if anyone can steer me in the right direction as where to order quality parts through, I would appreciate it. I'm not a big fan of ordering parts on e-bay or amazon for a Corvette if they are made in flippin' China. The hoses I ordered are from Davies Corvettes in Florida, but even that I was a little hesitant about.
I have all the part you need, even the same color. Will have the car this weekend. I bought it for the motor and will part out the rest. Good top, and stereo. Antennae is wiped out though. Not looking to make a mint just pay for the car.
splattt72 that is awesome news, my friend! I actually ordered the rear emblem and antenna. I had the hood ornamnet installed when they did the hoses last week. I am also getting the front plate decals in the mail soon. Window seals are mostly done and the hatchback is complete.
So the roof is the main thing to get and then it will be complete. I think I am going to upgrade the stereo but it is not a priority, especially if I can't get this heating issue under control.
But yes, I will be very interested in the roof. Hopefully we can strike up some sort of deal. Thanks again for posting.
When your all done getting the replacement top, I may take your old damaged one off your hands if you want to get rid of it or sell it as scrap. I'm looking for a frame so if the frame is good, we can talk about it off line.
Wow. Thanks for the videos. The third one is especially scary. My Dad is a mechanic so I grew up my whole life around hot rods. I know my way around but am no expert by far. I heard more swear word combinations, saw more greasy hands and bloody knuckles to last me a lifetime. Okay, I don't mind the swear word combinations, some of those that he came up with were quite original. Ha Ha. Thanks again. As far as just needing a sun roof, if there are interior goodies, I would be interested as well, SPlattt7272.

For sure. I think the only issue is age with the plexiglass and not the frame. I will know better when I take it off for a nice Sunday drive...AFTER I fix the cooling issues. It should be soon enough, I will keep you posted.
Oh and B.T.W., your 'Vette is flippin' what I wished mine looked like. VERY NICE, my friend. Two thumbs up.

The color is Tan on the interior and I have pretty much anything you might need. The car is complete just missing the rear hatch, it's in a million pieces.
You need to start with a cooling system flush. You drain the radiator and then go under the car and remove the two knock sensors to drain the block. Do not be surprised if they are full of crud and you have to remove it to get the water to come out. When the water is out make sure the radiator is clean. There are many posts on this. The car should run down the road at about 190 to 205 and will go up in stop and go traffic or when stopped. The fans should come on at about 229 and cool it quickly.
You can buy a used sunroof on the Corvette forum for a reasonable price. Willcox seems to have the reputation for the best quality weatherstripping. They are a vendor on the forum.
For a new stereo you will need to replace the radio head and the 4 speakers and wires, and probably put in an amplifier. Contact Dennis at Double D Mods and he can set you up with what you need. He is not well known on the C4 forum but is the C5 audio guru. I bought mine from him, with the exception of the amp, which I got from Crutchfield, another good source for radio and speakers. I got an Alpine 45 watt per channel amp that is about 7 X 2 X 2 in size, which I mounted behind the passenger seat.
If you do not have one, buy the red cover factory service manual set for the car. They run around $ 50 to $ 100 used and are worth the price.
I buy parts from Mid America. There are also Corvette Central, Ecklers, and others.
Mine never ran that cool. Usually in the 215-230 range. I think that is why it blew. If you figure out the issue I would like to know what you did. Mine had a new radiator and flush. The fans just don't seem to come on early enough. Works fine with the A/C on.
I got the green top and what not if you still need it. Can send a picture of it.
Welcome. I have had my 94 vette for about 14 years now. And I am sorry to say that you will always have that over heating problem as long as you stay with the stock radiator. Well, actually according to the specs, it says that fan #1 comes on at around 228 or so and fan #2 comes on around 232 or so. They say this is normal and it is not over heating. Well, I don't agree. lol... To me, if your fans are out and you don't know it, it don't take long to get from 233 degrees to 260 and then you got problems. Had that happen to me once. But shut it down before any damage was done. I have tried about everything that anyone said to stop this and nothing worked. Oh, I have 190,200 miles on the motor and still runs great. I finally took the plunge and had a new after market double row Radiator installed today. This is suppose to solve the problem. I will know soon if it does or not. The cost was $557.00 for the radiator from Corvette Central and another 246.00 to have it installed. I would have tried it myself, but it would kill my old back. lol. Oh and since you are new to the 94 LT1 be extra careful about getting water on the Opti Spark ignigtion. A little water will fry it and then you have to get that replaced for around 500.00 now adays, use to be 900.00. If you have a newer one on it already it should not happen as easy as before, but you may want to read up on it anyway. Good luck and have a blast driving that machine!

Ironically enough I got a double coil Dewitt's from corvette central for $525 and had it installed yesterday! Oil change and install was $535!!! They also broke off the screw on the top left part of the fan. Looked at a new dual fan and that was $300 and almost $400 dollars. Factor in another install. Yeah I am sum pissed today, let me tell ya. Mine now has almost 98,000 miles. Good to know I can enjoy it for that much longer! Thanks for the reply.

I just had a new OEM radiator installed and it's working much better. Temps are down about 10 degrees. I wasn't able to get a real good flush because my mechanic didn't want to remove knock sensors. I think before next summer I will find someone who has the facility to do a proper flush. Thanks for your input and I'll certainly try to keep the Opti spark dry.
Check out Sunroof Doctor for the top. They seem to have a good reputation and are less expensive than some of the other vendors.
I don't know your circumstances but if at all possible learn to do work yourself. Start out tackling small easy tasks and build your skill and tool inventory as you gain experience and confidence. These cars can eat you alive if you pay a mechanic to do every job for you.
A FSM (Factory Service Manual) is a big help, but your best resource is this forum. The sticky threads at the top of the page will be a help, and just asking advice will get you all the answers you need usually. No matter what your problem, SOMEONE here has done it.
Good choice on the Dewitt's radiator. We put one in ours spring 2012. That summer we went to Oklahoma and Texas, encountered traffic, had AC going full bore, 102 degrees outside, and had no overheating issues at all.

Sound advice of learning to do it myself. Probably investing in a good book on Corvettes soon enough.

If I could offer you one piece of advice that would help you the most, it would be to get familiar with the advanced search on this forum. Sunroof problem? Gotta be a half dozen answers. What's the FSM, why should I have one, and where do I buy it? Asked and answered. Any other question about to fix any possible problem? Someone has been through it and the answer is here.
Good luck, develop a thick skin because some of us like to yank chains on occasion, but have fun,. You will be surprised at how soon YOU are able to answer some ELSE'S questions.
