Received my December issue of Corvette Magazine today in the mail. Great editorial article by Eric Gustafson regarding the C4 Corvette and its place within Corvette developement and history. Well worth the read.
Ending paragraph: "The fourth-generation Corvette was a breakthrough vehicle for Chevrolet and deserves more praise than it currently receives. The car's generally low resale value paints a picture that is not commensurate with its importance in in the greater scheme of Corvette history. While it certainly has its flaws, the C4 has plenty of virtues. To my eye, its styling is chief among them."
The 75-82 Corvettes were considered gargage for a very long time. Some day C4s will be appreciated more and increase in value....so long as there's a continueing parts chain to support the electronics.
Great! But does he mean it, or is it a reaction to complaints from C4 guys who threaten to cancel?
Printed car magazines are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Who really wants to pay for a magazine when they can get most of the information they want free from the internet?

For me I like paper. I'm old school and like to hold in my hands what I'm reading. I save my favorite issues and recycle to my friends the rest. I don't even own a computer right now at the house.
I like dial phones too but don't have one and not sure if it would work anyway. LOL
Corvette magazine has always spoken very highly of the C4 and quite frankly because of reading their magazine over the years I decided to buy a C4. I originally wanted a C5 but decided to check out C4's and was thoroughly impressed and excited about the car.
Just bought a C4 after previously and currently owning C5 and C6s. The car is a blast to drive. Any Corvette guy knows the importance and the breakthroughs that happened during the C4 run. Right now I enjoy my C4 more than my C6. The C6 is refined and sophisticated, like driving a Lexus...the C4 is raw and brutal and just mean!
Eric really does like C4's. He's the guy that took pics of my vette and did a write up of it for the magazine. He really wanted to drive it but a few days earlier he screwed up his knee and had it all wrapped up.

I have subscribed to that magazine for a few years now and like the diversity of Corvette articles they print. We all know the C4 does have it's problems but so does the C5 & C6. I'm glad there are people in the know that see these cars for what they are "a important step in the development of the Corvette and put the Corvette back as a world class sports car".
When it comes right down to it I really don't care what other people think, I just enjoy my car day in and day out. Now if I could just get my wife on board with the whole C4 thing it would make life a lot easier.
When they do throw c4s in there its usually a good read that's when I buy the issues. Even though im thinking of selling my 88 35th because its a maintenance ****/problem child. I still love c4s I tell people once you drive in one its like being in a jet cockpit or a spaceship theres nothing like it. Ive driven my buddys g37 coupe my dads tl. been in 350zs they just don't stack up or have the feel.

Agree completely. My C5 Z51 was much like driving an fbody with IRS. The seats were terrible, and I always felt like it was "softened" for an older/larger clientele. My old 84 Z51 while being a tooth rattler, handled like a slot car, and my current Z52 vert just squats and goes. It's got such a limit, that you don't have to take it to the edge to have fun (like a C5).
Like others have said, I think that the C7 is a return to the "feel" of the C4, and I'm betting that the C4 will pick up some attention in the wake.
