I'd agree with you!! Except my "work vehicle" is a 2001 Yukon SLT. and unfortunately, I prefer to live as close to work as possible....Unless of course, I lived in Germany where setting my cruise control on the Vette at 140 mph was a blessing.
Totally agree with the O.P. Although my daily driver is the money maker Pontiac Grand Am (at least its a two door) I do manage to take the Corvette to work every 4 to 6 weeks to stretch its legs. The weather has to be as close to perfect for the day as it can get, but I do get it down the road for a good 60 mile round trip. Nice looking coupe 007, I have never seen white shine like that!!!
Driving to work and home again was the best part of the day when I was working. Getting in the vette just made the whole day better no matter what else was happing or how bad the day was. For me it is therapy on a bad day and just plain fun on a good day. I drove the vette a lot and kept standard insurance so I could drive to work with no problems. Now that I'm retired it's still therapy or just plain fun and great every time I climb behind the wheel.
