Swap to LS motor. Boltons and a cam. Will get you over 360rwhp

Heads, cam and intake. Its easy but not cheap. Nos really is easy also but you have to keep filling that bottle. Heads, cam and intake, the power is there all the time, unlike the nitrous.

For the amount of cash you will spend getting 300 HP WAIT ! Don't make the mistake I made. Save that money and buy a 1994-96 C4. They are typically $7,000-9,000. Before you know it you will be that deep in that 1985 or pretty darn close. Don't be like me saying I could have just saved my money and bought a better Corvette

I was looking into that with my '85. I wound up selling the car and didn't make the swap, but here is what I was looking at.

Vortec heads with a SDPC manifold baseplate. I would also add long tube headers and exhaust since the '85 is pretty restrictive. That should get you over 300 and a cam would wake it up more. (Probably need a tune too)

Interesting article.

Manifold ($400)

Heads ($310 ea.)

Good luck with your choices.

Hmmm, glad I saw this thread. I have built an engine, sitting out inb the garage. It has ":906" vortec heads on it that I bought rebuilt. bought a carb manifold for it..but now that I see this TPI one for 400 bucks...beats the 500 dollar one from Eldeb. Already have the headers and a true dual system, high flow cats with x pipe. gonna have to buy that manifold.
