New here with a problem

86 4/3 stopped working and smoke coming up thru the console..just got this car wondering if I smoked the overdrive..lol,.can I drive it without the overdrive without causing further damage?? is it fixable without replacing it...thanks

I think you need to find out burned or melted under the console and decide. Cars on fire is not fun. The O/D may not be cause of smoke.

I had smoke coming out the bottom of my dash and it was the Heat, A/C controls burning up....

Check for a mouse nest. Might have been up inside chewing on the wires

Do all four of the forward gears and the reverse gear still function normally? What were you doing (speeding?) when you noticed the smoke? Did you have it in overdrive, and if so, was that functioning normally?
