Default 1996 Electrical Problems

I'm new to the Corvette scene, bought a 1996 coupe with 51,000 on it. It did not have the fob for the Passive Entry System. I went to the Chevy store and got 1. It would not program with the instructions in the owners manual. I took the car car to the Chevy dealer and they couldn't program it either. The ecm goes into programming mode but it doesn't seem to recognize the fob. They had another new fob in stock and tried it also. Does anyone have suggestions?

2) The hatch won't open with the switch in the console(and I haven't found the manual release), the power antenna won't raise , the Bose Gold Radio doesn't work(seems to have power). Is there a common power to all of these. As I start to trouble shoot all of these problems, any insight would be greatly appreciated.

1) The programmer inside the dash is bad. Mine failed also with your exact description. I bought a used one and had the Chevy dealer install it, and got it working again. I then disabled it and use the key instead.

2)Have you checked any fuses?

Does the radio show any characters on the display, or just light up? You also have a hatch switch on the door jam portion of the door panel, if that works I would bet the console switch is bad.

CHecked the fuses - OK.

The door jam switch does not open the hatch either.

The radio just lights.
