Rhino ramps work just fine for my '96 also.
For the clearance issue, just cut a couple of 2x6's about 12" long.
Lay those in front of the ramps, so your front tires get up on the 2x6's raising the air dam enough to clear the ramps.
I bought two 10 foot long 2x12's. Cut them to 5 ft, 3 ft and 2ft sections, stack them on top of each other and screw them together. Now I can drive up onto my old ramps no problem.
I bought a set of these - they're not cheap, but damn nice ramps...
no issues with my C4's, my C5's, or my C6. I've had them over 10 years now, and paid $200 (new via fleabay). I know that's a lot of $$$, but i'm not sorry I invested the cash.
You can save some money by getting a used pair of Race Ramps from another forum member. You can also try the LTP (less than perfect) offers on the Race Ramps web site.
I have one set of slightly dented RR-56-2 ramps that I can sell for $190 including shipping.
