Reason: update
Not much more to offer. I went to start it. It acts as though it's ready to start. Puffs then nothing. Just happened this morning. Ran great last night.
codes may not point to cause. To test basics you need a few things : a spark tester GM's version is a ST-125, A noid (blinker) light for the car or injector you have, Fuel pressure gauge kit (not all cars have schrader valve type connection), a 12 volt test light and a Digital Volt Ohm Meter. These tools can be found at auto parts stores, sears. Should not be that expensive, some auto parts stores have loaner programs. It sounds like alot, but other than noid light (since there a drifferent injector connectors) you can use this stuff to diagnose lots different systems and cars. FSM, Alldata, or atleast a chilton / haynes type book for information
i would first start by checking to see if there is spark going to the optispark unit. attach a plug wire (or use the existing wire) to the coil and insert a spark plug into the plug wire and crank the engine. if it has spark, move onto the next phase.
test for spark coming out of the opti by pulling one of the plug wires from a plug and inserting a spare spark plug into it, grounding it, and cranking the engine, looking for spark. if you have spark, its time to test the airflow meter, and start looking into the fuel system and ecu.
