After my purchase of the 87, I got a few things I need to replace and am trying to get a general idea of how much a pain in the butt it is going to be. Weather stripping and the turn signals are my first on the list.
The 4 ways work fine. Left turn signal is slow but blinks and the right just stays lit and doesn't blink.(front and back) Wondering what I am getting into here so I know what to expect.
Next, the weather stripping. I am new to the whole fix your own car deal so how difficult is getting the old removed and new in place?

Thanks for any advice and comments.

Weatherstrips can be easy to remove...mine just fell apart. Installing is more involved - there is trim which will have to be removed and re-installed and maybe an adjustment here or there. Trim is not cheap, can be hard to find, and many times has hidden screws holding it. You need to invest in the correct factory service manual for your year. The books are better than the disc unless you have printer and lots of paper. You can find them used in corvette sites parts for sale sections and ebay. There are people selling peliminary service information book as FSM it's not it supplements the year prior books. It's what they used until the real FSM came out 2-6 months after model year was out. They are not always accurate. The FSM will provide information how do most everything related to the car.

The January 2014 issue of Vette magazine has an article on how to replace C4 weatherstripping.
