Wanted to say hello. Just picked up a beautiful 1994 with only 40,000 miles in near perfect condition. My first Corvette, in fact my first Chevrolet. Looking forward to learning about the car, and driving. Took it for a long drive today and it is awesome.

That's a sweet looking car and welcome. The C4 is something special and is a load of fun to drive. If you're used to the Mr2, the C4 is a change of pace with all that torque. Just be mindful of the handling limits as it weighs over about 3300 without the driver so it's heavier than the imports. It handles well but I've stuffed mine into corners that didn't phase a Miata and wound up in a 4 wheel opposite lock full on drift. It does have near 50/50 weight distribution so no surprises as mine proved to be very neutral at the limit. Any limitations are due to the car being built around the small block Chevy and totally worth it IMO.
Lots to learn here and learn to wrench on the car. Go to ebay and get the factory service manual's and try to tackle most of it yourself. These cars are getting old and need some attention, even with low miles. Most of this car is designed for DIY maintenance. Some of it can be time consuming, but it's not difficult.

I hear ya. Yep The Corvette is a different vehicle than what I'm used to thats for sure. In a good way. This car just drives so effortlessly as opposed to my other smaller manual sports cars. Being that its an automatic just makes it even that much nicer for driving in traffic. This Corvette feels much like a grand touring sport. The suspension is stiff but nowhere near as stiff as the suspension on my other cars. I can take some pretty gnarly hairpin turns at high speeds in my mx5 GT, for example, and stick into it like on rails. I don't know if I'd feel comfortable doing that aggressive of a maneuver in the Corvette. even so, it appears to handle very well for its size. I haven't had a chance to take it out for a full run yet. Possibly tomorrow.
Hey Sassman,
Nice Corvette. Yeah they do look a lot alike. Is yours manual or automatic? How many miles you have on it?
The first order of business will be to take it and have a complete coolant, and transmission, and brake fluid, and engine oil flushed. Get the rotors turned and put on some high quality pads. Replace someone gaskets, and if needed replace worn out rubber bushings and/or motor mounts. Tie rod ends and ball joints and other control arms, etc., shouldn't be worn out with that low miles but I will inspect anyway. the Bilsteins have hardly any miles on them. I'm wondering if shocks can degrade from lack of use?

Mine is a '94 automatic as well and it has 110,000 miles on the odometer. It was a one owner vehicle and well maintained, with a full service history. One thing though, the water pump has never been changed, so I'm waiting for that to go, along with the Optispark.

Original paint. I used the 3M polishing system to give her a deep shine, but she was in good shape to begin with.
