Default Blinker Problem

Right blinker works correctly, Left blinker stays solid.

Lights work, Hazards blink.

Reading back in old threads it would seem that the left blinker staying on is due to a bad ground. I am not sure if this was a problem before i took out the rear tails for paint or not.

The wires going into the tail sockets look fine, bulbs are brand new though it also doesn't blink with the old bulbs I just replaced for long life bulbs... so I doubt it's the bulbs.

Should I take apart the sockets and actually look at the wiring inside? How do I test/look for the problem ground? Could the bad ground be behind the dash?

Any more information on fixing the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Oh lord... lol.

According to the FSM it sounds like it is most likely the signal switch. Ugh. Does not sound like fun to replace.

Echoing what hooked073 said, I have heard that if a bulb is put in backwards it can cause this symptom.

Fronts come on but also don't blink.

I am thinking signal switch in the steering column?

I highly doubt it is the turn single switch.

I would suggest pull all the bulbs you had out. Check to make sure they are the correct bulb for the locations. then reinstall.

I had already done that. I just ran up the road and grabbed a new turn flasher unit. Going to pop it in tomorrow and see if it fixes the problem.

Turn on the 4 way flasher and see what results you get.

If you mean the hazards, they work, all lights flash.

WOOT. Blinker fixed. With help from the forums and pictures it wasn't too tough to find and replace the turn flasher module.
