Default Insurance Coverage

My insurance company will not provide collision. What do you have for coverage and where? How much is it? I'm thinking of switching.

Unfortunately you're in an area they don't write coverage (based on their map) but for anyone that is, check out: http://www.cwgcollectorcar.com/

Very reasonably priced for the coverage on my 86 convertible.

Default Ins

I gave the ins company the value I placed on the car and wanted to insure it for, the deductible I wanted, current mileage and options, how many miles I think I'll put on a year, it's parked in a garage, a couple of pictures of the outside and inside along with a couple pictures of the engine. IIRC that's about all it took for my agent to get my policy set up. I can run errands, drive it work a couple of days each week if I so desire without a problem.

In fact I found that I can move my Thunderbird to them, even though it doesn't qualify for collector plates yet (neither car has collector plates yet but will eventually for better licensing rates and each only getting driven for fun). I got a very acceptable rate on the Vette and I will see what it would run for the Bird. If it's comparable, I'll be changing it to them also.

American Collector. $172 a year. My agent could not bind coverage, so I'm waiting on the policy from the company. 7,500 annual miles with an agreed value of $10,000. I forget the rest of the particulars but will fill them in when I get my policy this week.

Another vote for NCM. I recently had a windshield claim and the entire process was easy. I just submitted a quote from a local shop that other Corvette owners in my area had used before. They sent me a check for the full amount - no copay needed.
Car has full coverage for stated value and allows me to drive it to work now and then. Around $400/yr.
I like the service and also the fact that Adam recognizes me when I see him at car shows and when I visit the NCM.

I have coverage through Electric Insurance - a company that is owned by General Electric. So far they have had the best rates I can find around here.

I have hagerty's but it's about to be up for renewal, it's 486 a year, I got a quote from NCM and its 300 a year for the same coverage. Looks like I'll be switching.

Definitely pays to do some shopping. Better than 1/3 reduction in premium for the same coverage is great.
