Check caliper bracket bolts. Check the rubbery parts of the front suspension for metal on metal. Find an empty parking lot for a strip mall or warehouse where you can drive window down right next to the building to listen or better yet an observer that you can drive past.
Test for coasting in neutral vs in gear vs braking. Turn a few tight circles each way and see if it aggravates the clunk.
If it occurs when going over bumps, check your hood latch pins. One of mine was loose (drivers side) and it produced a horrible rattling/clunk sound over bumps. Just figured it out and fixed it today.
