Need more information. There are three fuses, did you check all three? What happens when you try to reprogram the fobs, what happens at each step and when does it stop? What do you mean the doors autolock? They don't do that on a regular coupe, I doubt they would havre changed the PKE programming for the ZR-1, but maybe I guess. What happens when you try to open the hatch? Nothing i guess?

In normal mode, the doors do autolock and the horn honks when you walk away. When approaching the car, both doors open automatically. So if it is autolocking, the system is at least recognizing the fobs. When you tried to reprogam the fob, did you make sure the 2nd fob was well out of range of the system before going into program mode? Like Mark said, we need a little more information on what happens when you program and also what the fobs are not doing.

She didn't say they locked when you walked away (if they did then they would be working), she said they locked when you closed the doors, which I am pretty sure is not standard.
My PKE went south this summer too. Which fuses control this unit -- and where are they located?
Thanks.
They are listed in the owners manual. If memory serves they are 26,40 and 42. They are under the little panel at the end of your dash on the passenger side. Have you checked to make sure you didn't just turn it off?
Besides being able to toggle the system ON & OFF, you can select whether you want to unlock just the driver door orboth doors. Put the key in the ignition but do not start the car. Push and hold the door button on the fob till the locks cycle. Each time you do this, it toggles the unlock function between driver door or both doors.
First up, thanks and kudos to MarkKlein and Klondike for their information.
I checked out the fuses, and all were there and fine. The numbers: 26, 40 and 42 were correct. Too, I cycled the PKE through its routine, and now all is well. My Ruby is back asleep, albeit on life support. (on a battery tender as is my FIAT.)
This is why I love this forum, and appreciate the information available to us all.
