Hi C4 fans. I am currently in the market for a C4 and looking to have one in the driveway in the next 2 week's. in the past i have owned a C3 (bout 26 years ago) now after 1st daughter through college and 2nd a sophmore in High school I am ready to treat myself. I have $9k to spend and hope to get an LT1 with under 90k miles. think its possible? not real picky on colors but ofcourse like black or red. preferrably a 6 speed. here is a link to one I have in mind. what do you think? well hope to be a C4 owner soon thanks'

I think that looks decent but unless you absolutely know that is the right car, I personally would not buy the first and only car I looked at. Part of the fun is test driving and looking at numerous cars and this is the right time of year to buy.

That is a really nice looking car. But for $9k, you should be able to get everything you prefer. It may take more than 2 weeks, but it will be well worth the wait. Also, be sure to scan the "C4 for sale" section. Here is a car that I would love to have: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4s-...-7900-a-4.html

That one looks ok. The seats look nice which is a plus. Things to consider are the weatherstripping and check suspension noise (excessive) due to worn or dry rotted grommets. Otherwise a brief history from the owner to double check replacement and maintenance done on car. The car you listed is worth a person visit.

Midlife..you need to slow down and do some serious research on what you are buying...jumping from this Generation to that..is not going to solve the basic issue of your search. It's a chevrolet, and you need to address the corvette the same way you would any other 20 plus year old car..with a lot of knowledge about what you are looking at..and what you are willing to spend once you realize that the cream puff you put in the driveway is not so much, when you find it needs, it needs, it needs..research your C3 and C4 models, foibles, and known trouble areas, so when you go to look at these things, instead of having corvette fever, like we have all experienced, you are knowledgeable about the plastic fantastic you are staring at. ie. how are the u-joints, how is the transverse leaf, front and rear..how is the tranny, how much wear on the engine,..is it the original, engine, trans. is the electrical intact, is the vacuum system working correctly, do the fans come on and off at the right temps, has the car been wrecked. is the rear end screaming..are the wheel bearings quiet..a lot to consider..that cream puff could break your bank real fast if it needs tranny solenoids, new bands, for an auto, or an overdrive unit, or for a manual a clutch, pressure plate, etc. or a rear end. You need to arm yourself with knowledge...and then go hunting. Not trying to rain on your parade, just want to share experience and some advice. Best, Derek
