Which transmission ?

New guy here, an import from the C! forum. Interested in adding a C4 to keep my C1 company but I've been getting a lot of conflicting information. Which manual transmission do 1988 Corvettes come with ? Is it the 4+3 or a 5 speed or a 6 speed or did they change partway through the year ? Other years are pretty straight forward but 88's not so clear. Thanks, Bob

The first ZF six speeds (S6-40) were factory installed for model year 1989. A number of earlier cars were retrofitted by their owners.
