95 Convertible Top
I live in the UK and own a 1995 Black convertible with cream roof.
The roof is in great shape but after almost 20 years of rain ( only when driven, the car is garaged!!) the colour is faded and I would like to restore it back to cream. I can find products that darken the fabric but as yet haven't found anything to put it back to cream .If anyone knows of a product I'd be delighted to hear about it. My only other option is to replace the roof.
Thanks for listening.
I used to know a guy with an '80s convertible who replaced the black top with a custom dark grey one.....it always just kind of looked like it was faded to me.
Either way, I'm not sure that there's a way to re-dye the top on the car. By '95 all the tops were cloth, so there may be a way. I would talk to a convertible top shop in your area and see if they have any way. I know out there parts/labor can get pretty expensive. I spent a total of almost $2000us doing the top on my '69, but part of it was because the frame was a little tweaked and had to be straightened.

Many thanks for your reply. Once I had posted I remembered that the colour was tan. I have contacted restorers over here and no one over here can help. Renovo have a product but it recolours and only in dark colours. If anyone in the States has any ideas ..please send 'em this way.
