Default 1988 bread box question

I have a glove box not a pad. I have not seen another 1984-1989 C4 with the same glove box. I am in Venice CA right now for the holiday weekend. I went to Carson the other day and bought a interior piece from a guy off Craigslist. He took a look at my car and told me that my glove box is not stock. He said its a aftermarket part. The only thing that came from the factory were pads. Is he right ?

Wow ! Any ideas where it came from ? I've never seen it for sale ? Mine is old and I'm debating on removing it and putting the flat piece from Ecklers in its place. Down side is I've grown used to keeping registration and insurance in it.

I thought the term refered to its odd shape and thought glove box bread box ya know ! Not pad for the passenger to hit in a collision. I will snap a few pics today.

Some where in search you should fine a thread with a photo. I believe they are no longer being made . Check with Ecklers, Mid America, or one of the other after market vendors

I've had one in the last 13 years. I posted it on here and have heard mostly grief over it case in point. The reason I posted that thread was to warn others of the lesson I had learned. A few actually shared similar experiences. Most gloat or scold.

Oh I remember that recent one. You were going over a zillion miles per hour and got nailed. I'm kidding. You did get somewhat beat up over that though. I've had more than my share of tickets over the years. It's all part of Corvette ownership. If you haven't gotten any speeders, it's time to buy a Prius because you're not driving a Corvette right. That glovebox is also good for filing away parking tickets.

I went to Huntington CA to meet up with a friend last Saturday night and when I came back to my car which was curb side I had a parking ticket ! Lol $61 which isn't very funny at all. I am still on the fence about paying that ridiculous fine. It seems the curb was red after reading the ticket. However I had to shine a flash light on it to see any sign of this faded red paint. There were vehicles parked all up and down the street and only the red C4 had a ticket on the windshield.

Liberals hate our cars. I live on the west coast and it's dominated by Prius's and Subarus's. Funny thing is it's THEM who are tailgating and driving like idiots. Go figure.

You should check out California. More Priusus per capita than the rest of the world. 55 mph fast lane hogs.
