Default 1/4 panel and door jam replacement

I am in the middle of replacing my passenger side 1/4 panel. I have the old one removed and cleaned ready to install the other. after having to remove another one from a rear 1/4 clip i bought that was a job saving it without damaging it. i was convinced not to buy after market parts. Now i need to replace the door jam, just the fiberglass part the metal structure is not damaged i just need to replace the fiberglass overlay. Any one ever done this i have the part on my 1/4 cut i just need to salvage it upon removal. Any help would be appreciated??????????

The door jamb piece is one piece all around the door. You will need to splice in the new piece. The easiest and the most inobtrusive (visible) would be under the door. The best way would be to make a bondingstrip of the old material to splice the two parts. If you feel creative, you can try to bevel connect the two pieces (still use the bonding strip). Once you splice them, go back over with kitty hair and/or bondo to obscure the line.

Thats what i was thinking just wondering if the bonding adhesive will be as easy to remove seeing as its bonded to metal. The industrial heat gun worked good on the rest of it.
