I completed an LED instrument cluster bulb replacement today and wanted to share a couple photos. I had researched this on the forum and found some threads that stated LED's were not bright enough, but didn't find any examples to provide visual comprehension.
I used 4 Sylvania "LEDriving bulbs. I actually like the way the dash looks, while it is a bit "whiter" than with the traditional bulbs I find it plenty bright enough to be functional.
Anyway, everyone has their personal preference but for those who are considering LED upgrades perhaps this visual will help.
Hey Phil, according to your mpg gauge, your gas mileage really sucks......But your dash looks good......WW
LOL, I was wondering if anyone would comment on that. I took the photo right after I completed putting the dash back together and ECM reset. Believe it or not, my ECM was telling I was doing 28-30 on highway with my new 383, of course I have the 2.73 gears for that came with a convertible before the reset.
looks nice!! do you have any pics of the dash in the dark without a flash? What did the bulbs run per pack?
I drove the car this morning to see how the dash looked but didn't think to take a photo. To me it looked almost the same as the current photo though, the reason being is it was overcast and rainy yesterday and I was inside my garage with the lights out when I took the photo.
As for the costs, I think they were basically 13 bucks a piece at advanced auto parts. You could probably ebay them for less, but I like immediate satisfaction so I pay extra when i get in the mood to go fix something. Doh!!!! :
