Ooooo thats just mean ! Calipers on are list next month. Two verbal warnings and one computer generated warning. One Highway patrol guy told me i need to fabricate a bracket up front!
In texas if your car did not come from the factory with a front plate mounting provision a Front plate is not required. Vettes have a provision therefor you must run a front. My 06 DRT charger did not and did not require Me to run a front plate.
Thats not right, our 2011 Grand Sport did not come from the factory with a provision for a plate, but the law say it has to have a front plate. Also when reading about the front plate law the hide a plate is not legal. I had one on my C4 and also my Z06 and read the law, so I called the DPS and they said anything that lets you manipulate the front plate is illegal.
I've always found this really silly. Just... get a plate. Jeese.
Wow, really? That's harsh. Does no frames go for both front and rear or just front? No plate frames is a truly obnoxious law.
No license plate frame, means no license plate frame. I like others here simply think its crazy to run no plates when its required. It does not hurt the looks of any vehicle. You just get used to it.
The big problem I see is breaking laws like this give other Vette owners a bad rap. Now when Troopers, Sheriffs or Locals see a Vette, they are more apt to pull it over to see what they can find that is illegal.
A couple years ago my dad in NY would just put the front plant on the dash by the inspection sticker because he didn't want to drill holes in the front of his 3rd gen Camaro. Never had any issues that I know of.

Sheesh. Out here in CA I don't know if I even see many license plates without frames, at least in the rear. Hell, most cars come with frames brand new. But you do have to run front plates, thats for sure.
How about 0O0O0O (zero oh zero oh zero oh zero oh). Then you can mix them up on other vehicles and get your friends to get them too with other combos. O0O0OO0 it will really mess with the computer generated tickets.
In Minnesota, no front license plate is required on collector cars 20 years old or older. I know a guy that had a early C4 and was stopped for not having a front plate. He tried to tell the trooper that one wasn't necessary. The trooper was not convinced.
I took the trouble of having the Minnesota DOT send me an email confirming that my '86 Corvette did not require a front license plate. I have never had to use it though.
I've been pulled over eleven times (no tickets!) in the Great Republic, not once have I been told I need a front plate, mine just sits in my windshield.

That may be true but you are still subject to get pulled over. You may get a ticket with the statement: "Tell it to the Judge, Boy..."
I live in a two plate state too. New Hampshire. What I did with the front was put the plate on with a tinted plastic cover. It sort of matches the lenses on the directional / driving lights.
