I have an 84 crossfire I was tuning while
Waiting for a new ecm and prom while
Still using the old ones I balance the throttle
Bodies and go to set the tps it's got three wires the top one shows 4.83v the middle shows nothing and the bottom shows .03v I turn the tps and no change please help
Are you connecting your meter to the bottom two wires on the TPS? If you don't get a change when you move the TPS either it is NFG or the arm is not inserted into the throttle body correctly.. To check the TPS you could disconnect it and try manually moving the arm if you get a varying voltage check how it sits in the throttle body, if it doesn't change you need a new one..
I do not get a changein voltage on any of the wires even when moving the throttle position arm by hand when I unplug it and check voltage coming to the tps I get the same 4.83 on the top nothing In the middle and .03 on the bottom is that voltage to the three tps wires normally and why would the third wire have the .03 reading
If you read We Gone's post #2 and followed the instructions in the first link he provided for you, and then my last post, you would know where your problem was..

That's what I'm thinkin jut buy a new one my new ecm and prom should b in today my real question was is that the correct voltage on the wires when there not hooked to the tps also I keep getting conflicting views on what two wires to jump to set the tps
The reading is done on wires A & B with every thing plugged up and ignition on. You may have to rig up some jumper wires or pierce them with a probe, Mid America also sells a jumper set up. The second link to the 82 is because it also has the L83 and much of it works over to the 84.
I just bought a new TPS from company I won't name right now, but I could only get .44 max volts from it. I emailed them and they told me that "I have checked with the manufacturers technical service line and found that part # TH37T should have an operating voltage ranging from .42 to .61 which yours seems to be operating at." Anyone have a comment??
