Jasper replacement engines will have the same (or very close to) power figures as the original year motor. But Jasper also has a line of performance engines. It could be that the engine was one of those.

Jasper engines will have some paper decals with bar codes and a part number. But with the mileage on the car, those decals could have disappeared. Jasper motors as delivered are painted a grey color; is that the engine color now?

Just because it looks stock from the outside doesn't mean that it's stock inside.

Not going to tell you a lot.
Paperwork only relates to the engine when it came out of the box

Anything could have been done ( good or bad ) to the engine since it was rebuilt

If you leave it hanging upside down like that all the fluids are going to leak out.

Jasper engines are "sealed" in that any indication of post-delivery work on the motor will void the warranty. Once an engine is assembled by Jasper, the engine is painted so any exposed gaskets such as the oil pan, front cover, and head gaskets will have paint on them.

Wait, isn't that how everyone finds loose change?

The '86 having way more power than the '91 may be something else altogether. Check
the rear end ratio of each car. If the '91 has stock 2.59 gears and the '86 has 3.07 or
better... question answered.
