Default '94 covertable problem

I have a 1994 rag top, and when I put the top down, the deck lid does not "latch" correctly on the pax side. It sticks up about 1/4 in. You can press down on it, and it moves into position. It is latched down, but not tight like the drivers side. The top seems to be laying correctly in the well, and not binding with the deck lid.
Any ideas? Any way of adjusting this?

THANKS

Check to be sure the latch on that side is not gummed up, jammed, or otherwise inoperative.

Make sure the manual release lever is moving freely, too.

You're welcome. 'Hope you got it figured out and fixed now. Remember where those manual release levers are. They're mighty handy when the electric solenoids fail.

The latches appear to work correctly. I sprayed them with WD40, and then re-greased them with some silicone spray grease-no difference. Is there any adjustment on/in the latch itself? I dread the thought of even messing with it...I cant even hang a bi-fold door right!
Thanks for the info and the pictures...MUCH APPRECIATED !!!

Default convertible Solenoids

Not to threadjack, but...
Both my solenoids work, but the one on the driver's side doesn't pull the cable far enough to release the latch (too much slack). Is there an adjustment to reduce the slack that would make the latch release?? I have the FSM and there's no mention of any adjustment.

Thanks!

I've never dug deeply enough to be able to advise about adjusting the latches' positions, but it should be possible. They had to have some adjustability at the factory, or they'd have never been able to get things lined up correctly. If you remove the trim covering the latches, you should be able to get to the latch-mounting bolts, and loosening them will probably allow you to adjust as required.

But if you're as uncertain as it sounds about your ability to do such things, you might want to enlist the help of a talented mechanic, rather than wading into this one on your own.

I'm not aware of any adjustment, but it's possible there is one. First thing I'd do is examine the situation closely. In particular I'd look to see if the cable jacket has slipped out of its retainer.

The three gold colored screws that hold the latch on, perhaps if you loosen those you can adjust the latches? I don't know...I'm just thinking out loud I guess. I'm interested in this cuz my '92 is displaying the same symptom yours is although if I press down on mine hard it latches in the right position.
