Default Yes, another wheel question - sorry

I am looking at American Racing Torq Thrust Wheels - the only rear size is 10.5. Currently on the car (96 coupe) is 9.5. The notation with the wheel is that it will protrude from the fenders... but does not indicate how far. Great... These are from Tire Rack. Does anyone have this size on their car, and is it possible to see a side picture to see how far they protrude. this is a big investment, and I sure don't want to be sorry... thanks - kip

Kip,

Did you play on Captains Table softball team? I don't see your name written very often - please pardon the slight highjack. John

I took these on the 2008 Power Tour.
Not my car, so don't know any details other than they are Torq Thrust wheels.

What are the advertised offsets? That will answer all your questions! A link to the wheel?

What do think the possibilities are that the tires hit the top of the fender when going over bumps?

Not much of a chance I don't think. The red car in that link is Kubs car here on the forum. He raced with those wheels and I don't think he ever said anything about them rubbing. maybe he will chime in.

Drop a plump-bob at the front and measure 11mm (7/16" approx.) from your tire sidewall now and if the tire size doesn't change that will be your new tire/wheel placement.

Do the same at the rear and measure out 25mm (1" approx.) and that's your new tire/wheel placement so long as the tire doesn't change. On the rear I'd suggest you do "both" sides. That "result" might surprise you.

It's difficult to relate to snapshots because you don't actually "know" the tire or the wheel specifics unless you're discussing "first-hand" with the owner and that the owner actually knows.

That's based on your comment that there's 9.5's @ 56mm OE/GM wheels presently. Why not the 9.5's X 4 again? What is your rear tire intentioned this time? The rear tire selection will change the result somewhat but you don't mention the tire size now so it's difficult to comment.
