2022 C4 of the Year Finalist - Modified
Here is where the car is at in a nutshell..
Most of the car had been disassembled. The OE suspension parts that stayed (A-arms etc) were glass beaded, and clear coated. All the ball joints were replaced. ALL the bushings in the entire car, front and back, were replaced with poly units (including the steering rack). VBP suspension, including front extreme adjustable spring, and rear sport spring. All new Bilstein sport shocks. Nothing was left untouched or upgraded. 1.25" hollow front sway bar, 1" rear solid sway bar, both powder coated black. The rear is a rebuilt 3.07. I drilled and tapped a drain/ fill screw into it. All new wheel bearings. All new u joints. Polished the driveshaft and half shafts. Battery moved to rear.
Brakes are stock size for now, but drilled rotors, Hawk HPS pads, stainless flex lines, line lock, all new brake lines i made (even polished the stainless and brass fittings for the hell of it). All new calipers. Adjustable proportional valve. No ABS, and all the original stuff sans the booster is gone.
Interior is all custom. All sound deadening material throughout. It looks like crap in the photo, but its alot more done then it looks. Hand made skeleton of high-density foam, aluminum one piece console, and custom dash filled with auto meter ultralite gauges with warning lights. All hand built. All custom wiring. The shifter i hand made myself (have an old lathe, etc) out of aluminum. The shifter itself is a B and M megashifter for a 3rd gen camaro. Hand making door skins, and in the rear will house 2 10" subs and amps. I covered all the OE plastic trim pieces with marine black vinyl. The only thing im keeping (after i reskin and fix them) are the sport seats. Also have yellow 4 point belts.
The roll bar is a 6 point i made. In the rear, i built outriggers to allow the targa top to still store there.
The 700 trans will be built and had a manual, reverse pattern valve body. Cooler installed as well.
Just finished the targa top. Sand blasted the frame, painted it semi black. Polished the blue acrylic, and rebonded to frame. Aligning it was not fun.
Lets see......other than that today im finishing sanding the hood. I plan on grafting the center of it to clear the motor, but want to wait till the motor is mostly done so i know how much to go..
Car has been sanded right down to the gel by hand. That sucked, but was well worth it. The car also came with the Greenwood package, dealer installed. Still missing the front piece, but ill find one one day..
I have thousands of pics over the years, too many actually. It started out as buying the car ($4000 in 2002) and building a motor for it, and a paint job...Howd that work?lol.....Also have every receipt, and instruction sheet from day one..
Going to paint car (i think) GM Supersonic blue, with flat black. Rims will be dark grey or black. Still not 100% on either the paint or rims, but rim size is 18x12 rear, 17x10 front.
Any questions ill be here!!!
Thanks for all the support!!!

Oh, and i replaced as many fasteners as i could with stainless replacements....Frame was painted flat black..Also rewelded any questionable GM welds.
Found the build sheet when i was finishing the fuel tank (which i might run a fuel cell, undecided) and also when the K member was out and getting sandblasted, we found a shell from a 38 handgun in there. Im convinced a GM employee put it there as there was no way it made it there on its own...
New windshield, and all new weatherstrip on entire car. Even all the stupid little pricey seals....
Everything so far has been done by me, and 3 other people (when they dont dodge me, lol)....The car has also been moved, mid project from Oldmar FL to my home in Saratoga NY (divorce). In that time it spent 4 years in storage and i could barely work on it. Hence the long time frame. Bought my home 2 years ago and i plug away as much as possible...

Awesome project! Wow, so you had the car painted awhile back but then ended up HAND sanding the whole thing? Yikes! Talk about a lot of elbow grease.
I don't think I'm the only one looking forward to how this thing keeps coming together.

The car wasnt painted, i sanded the whole thing down by hand to the gelcoat....Sucked, but well worth it..First coat of primer laid down perfect.

Le Mans Master
It shows a great deal of attention paid to the details.. which means there is even greater attention paid that isn't seen. This is a well built car with many, many hours of hard work and love of corvettes, seen.
